GEC Open Assam debut begins GEC Indian Swing

GEC Open, in association with OMA Emirates Assam kicked off the seven-city Indian tour of the GEC Open 2018 amateur series. The picturesque Kaziranga Golf Resort played a gracious host to over 40 avid golfers and corporate leaders on October 7.

The tournament was played in Stableford format in three handicap categories for Men (0-9, 10-16 and 17-24) and One category for women – 0 to 30.

In Men’s 0-9 category, Nagesh Singh grabbed the top spot with 33 points off an eight handicap who also bagged the Longest Drive prize while Rupankar Bhagwati finished best in 10-16 category with 31 points off a 14 handicap.

In 17-24 handicap division, Deepakananda Bharali carded 32 Stableford points playing off an 18 handicap to emerge victoriously.

Victory belonged Mamta Begum in the Women’s division with 30 points off a 26 handicap. Pallav Borgohain secured the Closest to the pin prize.
