GEC Open 2018 Kicks Off in Italy
The much-anticipated Global Enterprise Connect (GEC) Open, in association with OMA Emirates global amateur series marked the beginning of 5th season with the GEC Open qualifier in Italy.
Hosting its maiden GEC Open golf tournament, the Pevero Golf Club on the island of Sardegna, witnessed crème-de-la-crème of Italian amateur circuit vie for the victory. Over 110 HNI’s, top corporates and industry leaders came together for an exciting day of competitive golf and networking opportunities.
The tournament was played in modified stableford format comprising of three different skill categories. In a closely fought competition, Bruno Frulani and Antonio Merli outclassed the opposition to emerge victorious and book world final berths. The duo are the firsts to qualify for the Dubai Corporate Golf World Cup scheduled to be held later this year in December. The world final will be played amongst champions from qualifying rounds held across the globe between August to December.
The world finalists will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete under national colors and ply their craft at two world class venues – Jumeirah Golf Estates and Emirates Golf Club. Besides this the winners package includes return airfare, luxury accommodation, venue transfers, Gala dinners etc. Dubai Corporate Golf World Cup provides amateur and club golfers with a unique opportunity to experience the thrill and excitement akin to a professional player.
GEC Open 2018 is poised to host 54 qualifying rounds in 34 countries making it one of the biggest corporate golf tournament all around the world.
