GEC Open, one of the most awaited premium corporate golf tournament makes an impressive start in its third edition. With newer countries on the radar, players from across the continents and a tournament which promises nothing but undiluted fun. The founders of GEC Open started this event with a mission to break barriers and involve corporate organizations and players from across the world to be a part of this unique golfing experience. The spectrum of partners has increased since its inception in 2014, GEC Open welcomes new partners who would like to connect with the team and offer greater good to the society, with not just the game of golf but CSR activity too.

Unlike other sport activities requiring ample stamina and cause exertion to the body due to time boundations, this peaceful game is more like a social fun activity paving way to networking blended with entertainment where there is interaction of corporate professionals and golfers from diverse countries leading to business developments and opportunities.

The first tournament of 2016, of this one of a kind event was held in the country of Ghana- one of the fastest growing African economy and deemed by analysts as the evolving IT hub of Africa. Tema’s Celebrity Golf Course played a host to around 150 people who graced the occasion with their presence. With enthusiastic golfers battling their way to make it to the finals scheduled to be held in Dubai, U.A.E the event was widely applauded across the region.

Mr.Mike Aggrey, President of Ghana Golf Association commended GEC for bringing this premium tournament to Ghana and giving the players an opportunity to represent their country in the finale at Dubai, U.A.E. He also seemed hopeful of Ghana’s win in the final round.

Ebo Anderson, Malebo Phage and Pamela Matondo qualified to represent Ghana in the GEC Open; Anderson scored 38 Stable-ford points while Malebo Phage scored 37 points and Pamela bagged 33 points winning the men’s and women’s category respectively. The ‘longest drive’ award went to Mona Myles- Lamptey and ‘the closest to the pin’ award went to Yaw Tenkorang Yeboah.
